General information


When will my recovery device be functional?

All of our recovery devices are immediately functional upon installation.


What should I do if my vehicle is stolen in the United States?

If your vehicle is stolen in the United States, report the theft immediately to our Security Central and the police in the town where the vehicle was stolen. Once you have completed a stolen vehicle report, the police will automatically activate the recovery unit in your vehicle.


What should I do if my vehicle is involved in an accident?

If your vehicle is involved in an accident and/or sustains damage as a result of an accident, call us at 1.877.777.8722 to schedule an inspection for your Espion device. This inspection is required to ensure that your device is in working condition and to maintain your warranty coverage.


How does the Theft Notification work?

With the Alert feature*, if your vehicle moves without your authorization or knowledge (i.e., is driven without the Key Fob present), you will receive an electronic theft notification to the points of contact you provided at the point of sale (emails and phone numbers). When eight hours have passed since the initial notification, the electronic theft notification feature automatically goes into sleep mode. This is a preventative measure so that if the electronic theft notification is triggered inadvertently (e.g., you lose your Key Fob or your Key Fob battery is low), you will not receive repeated notifications. Should you determine that your vehicle has been stolen, follow the procedures in case of theft.

With the Alert Plus feature*, you will be personally alerted by Boomerang Security Central if your car moves without your authorization. Upon confirmation of the theft, we will begin tracking your vehicle.

In the event that your vehicle is driven without the Key Fob present, you can reset your Alert or Alert Plus feature by simply driving for at least five (5) minutes with the Key Fob present in the vehicle.

What happens if I change or sell my vehicle?

Why can’t I transfer my mini wireless recovery devices if I’ve paid for them?

Espion mini wireless recovery devices cannot be removed due to the nature of the installation and security that surrounds the product. For security reasons, the location of neither the devices nor the number of them installed is available to anyone, not even Boomerang Tracking employees. The mini wireless recovery devices are permanent and in many ways can be compared to engraving car parts with a serial number. Once your vehicle has been engraved, there is no way of transferring that.



Moving and Storage


Will my Service Agreement be suspended during the time that my vehicle is in storage?

Your Service Agreement will not be suspended during any storage period.
